1. Organiser and purpose / Organiseerder en doel

The 2026 Suidpunt / Southern Tip Insider Toekennings / Awards are presented by Deaudette at Harcourts to invite community nominations for local businesses, people, places and experiences in the Southern Tip area. Information submitted through this site is used to administer nominations, review eligibility, contact a nominator where clarification is needed, prevent or review obvious duplicate or abusive entries, shortlist finalists and manage the awards.

2. Information collected / Inligting wat ingesamel word

We collect the nominator's name, WhatsApp or cellphone number, nomination choices, consent confirmation, and technical form-submission information recorded by the hosting and form-processing service. Please do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information in nomination fields.

3. Lawful use and consent / Regmatige gebruik en toestemming

By ticking the consent box and submitting the form, you consent to the processing described here. Participation is voluntary. The organiser will not use the submitted contact details for unrelated direct marketing unless separate, valid consent is obtained.

4. Netlify processing and cross-border storage / Netlify-verwerking en oorgrensberging

This website uses Netlify Forms. Netlify acts as a technology and form-processing service provider. Submission data may be processed or stored on infrastructure outside South Africa. By submitting, you acknowledge this possible cross-border processing. The organiser remains responsible for handling entries in accordance with applicable South African data-protection requirements.

5. Retention / Bewaring

Entries and contact details will be kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to run, verify and conclude the 2026 awards, resolve reasonable queries, and meet any applicable legal or record-keeping obligations. The organiser's working retention period is up to 12 months after the winners are announced, after which identifiable submission data should be securely deleted or de-identified unless a longer period is legally required.

6. Sharing and security / Deel en sekuriteit

Access should be limited to the organiser and people helping administer the awards who need the information for that purpose. Information may also be processed by Netlify as the hosting and forms provider. Reasonable safeguards will be used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your rights / Jou regte

You may ask whether the organiser holds your personal information and request access, correction or deletion where applicable. You may also withdraw consent for future processing, although this does not make earlier lawful processing invalid. 8. Entry rules / Inskrywingsreëls

• Nominations must be submitted in good faith and relate to an eligible Southern Tip business, person, place or experience.
• You may nominate in any or all categories. Blank categories are accepted.
• Community Hero nominations should relate to a person or community contributor. Best New Business is intended for a business opened within the previous 24 months.
• Deaudette at Harcourts, staff involved in administering the awards, and their immediate family may not be nominated.
• Duplicate, automated, abusive, misleading, ineligible or clearly manipulated submissions may be disregarded.
• A nomination does not guarantee finalist status or a prize. The organiser may verify, combine spelling variations and apply reasonable eligibility checks.

9. Local device reminder / Plaaslike toestelherinnering

After submission, this site saves a simple completion flag in the browser's local storage. It is only a soft reminder on that device and is not a hard duplicate block. Actual duplicate review may be done manually using submitted cellphone numbers.

10. Changes and contact / Veranderinge en kontak
